Wedding Weekend

If you saw Saturday's post already know that I was out of town celebrating the wedding of two dear friends. I have been friends with Jax ever since she pledged Kappa at the University of Arkansas and I have been friends with Craig ever since Jax introduced me to him one night at the Kappa Sig house. Oh so long ago!! They just might take the cake for being one of the sweetest couples that I have the pleasure of knowing. I had the honor of being a bridesmaid, so the weekend was jam-packed full of activities.

The past few months Jax's dear parents have been building an addition to their home. After lots of stress, it all came together and we were able to enjoy a delightful bridesmaids' luncheon under a tent in a beautifully landscaped yard. Somehow I didn't snap any pictures until after we ate. Excuse the sweat, we have been having ridiculously hot June weather in Arkansas.

All eleven (yes, eleven!!) of us bridesmaids received adorable slippers and a different pair of vintage earrings. Jax has impeccable taste and these are a gift I will treasure always.

The rehearsal dinner Friday night was at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks. All of the food was delish, but the mashed potato bar might have been my favorite part. With two Kappa Sig weddings the same weekend in Fayetteville, masses of people were in town. The late-night highlight of the evening was probably when Craig walked into the bar and the entire place broke out in screams, cheers and clapping. Gotta love being back in my college town.

The festivities on Saturday started at 11am, and let me just say that we were all glad that no fixed hair or make-up was required. Jax's favorite stylist flew in from D.C. just for the occasion. A few hours later there were 11 smokin' bridesmaids.

After a beautiful ceremony we celebrated the marriage with a reception at Carnall Hall, where from the specialty Jaxtini to the crystal chandelier in the tent, no detail was spared. The bride and groom were simply radiant!

I am looking forward to many, many years with this happy couple!
