The Move: Part 2

Instead of leaving on Wednesday, Bryan and I didn't hit the road until Thursday. It took longer than we had anticipated to get the moving truck all cinched down and ready to go. I have to admit it was nice having a relaxing dinner and sleeping in a comfy bed one more night at my parents' house before leaving.

{Ivy is not going to the bathroom. She was so darn excited that all she wanted to do was sniff the ground and get into the truck as soon as possible. You know how she hates to look at the camera.}

Sitting between the two of us, Ivy did extremely well throughout the trip. She didn't whine or want out a single time.

 The first day we drove through miserable rain for hours and didn't get out of it until we were in Kansas somewhere. Bryan had decided we were going to camp on Thursday, so we ended up staying at a very nice KOA in the middle of nowhere. There were the cutest little cabins and the bathrooms were nicer than most hotel's bathrooms. It only took a little over five hours on Friday to drive to Broomfield, Colorado, which is right outside of Boulder, where our friends Josh and Megan live. (They are the ones we rode the motorcycle to see. Click here and here.) That night we ate at a delish Mexican restaurant. Saturday morning Bryan and I got up bright and early to push on through the rest of the drive to arrive just before our storage rental place closed at 4pm. Then we unloaded for hours--it was miserable since we were worn out. It was pure heaven when we crawled into bed.

Waking up in the mountains put us in wonderful moods. We have been staying at a VRBO this week, as we looked for a condo to rent. Thank goodness we found one and got the keys to it on Monday! I've spent the past couple of days going back and forth, cleaning and running around to the shops looking for rugs and decor. Sunday evening we treated ourselves to the whiskey distillery for dinner. The food and drinks were amazing. I ordered the Peach Mule to drink and it instantly became one of my favorite all-time drinks. That baby and the patio will be calling my name quite frequently, I can already tell.

There are tons of trails and parks where dogs go to play. Ivy and I hike up behind the VRBO multiple times a day to get exercise and let her run.

Bryan, Ivy and I went on a walk all over town after dinner last night. The trees that are changing have the most vibrant and stunning colors, which are hard to capture, especially with a phone. I love seeing the bright colors right next to fur and pine.

To quite simply put it, Bryan and I love this place and may never leave. Have a great Wednesday, friends!
