Crafty Day...Weekend

My interview for a teaching position at Kids' College is on Monday at 3:30. It is not required, but highly suggested that all crafts/projects that could potentially be used in your class be brought to the interview. I am in the process of making 16 different crafts. Yes, 16! I have now settled in for the rest of the afternoon (possibly weekend) and turned on the creative side of my brain. Here is what my table looks like right now, minus a ton of other stuff I have not even bothered to get out yet. If I do not post again until after my interview on Monday, you will know why!

...........

On another note, what do you think of the hot pink French manicure? Yea or nay? I think I like it and will have to try it.

XOXO,
Hannah

Bicycle Lovin'

I am ready for warm weather so I can ride one of these lovelies! (I am not like my husband, who has the proper attire to ride his year-round. I much prefer to ride mine in warm weather!)

Fun-day Monday

I could not have asked for a more perfect day off! The weather has been surprisingly sunny and warm. After a five day surprise visit from my parents, I took them to Little Rock last night so they could catch an early flight out this morning. Being the super-cool (HA!) big sister/cousin/friend that I am to two super-cool teenage girls, I drug myself out of bed to take the youngest to breakfast and then school. Biding my time before the boutiques opened, I managed to spend some time in TJMaxx, picking up Melinda's Habanero Ketchup and a Cutter Bee Curvy Cutter for making rounded squares. The total bill was less than $10!! Then I headed to one of my favorite Little Rock shops, Beyond Cotton. They were having a 60-75% off sale!! I only snagged one shirt for myself, since I wasn't too crazy about anything else that I tried on. But, I really racked on pressies for Em's birthday that is coming up in a couple of weeks! There were tons of cute spring clothes that I went gaga over, but was very good and did not give in to my weakness. I told Bryan that I was not spending any money this month (minus the one shirt). I did see both of these two dresses there and they are perfect transition pieces for winter to spring. I promise they are much cuter in person! (Too bad there aren't any holidays where you receive gifts coming up soon.)

Make You Smile Monday

I am one of those people that detests forwarded emails. It does not matter if they are jokes, pictures or the headline news, I am annoyed by them. Most of the time I do not even open these emails. I click the little button beside them, and they are deleted forever. Only occasionally, on a very good day do I feel like being nice and open one. The following is an excerpt from one of those very lucky forwarded emails that I opened. Happy Monday!

Adult Truths

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
9. Bad decisions make good stories.
10. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.
11. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.
12. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
13. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
14. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.
15. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
16. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?
17. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front by using the breakdown lane to pass. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!
18. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey, but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.

Saturday Savings

If you are not using Ebates, I urge you to do so. I decided to log onto the site the other day and start using it after I have had friends mention it recently. Turns out I have been a member since 2009, but have never used it. I cannot imagine how much money I would have gotten back it I had been using it for that long. This week I have already made purchased though it on Ebay, Victoria's Secret and Campmor. Now I am watching my cash back go up, up, up! Please don't be as naive as I have been and sign up today to get cash back on tons of purchases! Here is my invitation link. Have fun shopping!

Never Looked Better

What is a week without at least one Tibi post? It was a real treat to find this article on Monday, which discusses Tibi's latest campaign featuring Olivia Palermo. Olivia was asked to pick her favorite articles of clothing from the Tibi closet and then posed for pictures in front of backdrops that were reminiscent of blogger snapshot locales. Major props to Amy for this creative way of allowing her brand even more recognition. I cannot get enough of these pictures, they are beyond marvelous! If only I could raid Olivia's closet! Here is a mixture of pictures that show outfits close-up and further-out shots so you can see the backdrops.

What do you think?
Happy Friday, sweet friends!

NOLA Recap

I am finally getting around to posting about our weekend in New Orleans (last weekend). Since neither Bryan nor I had ever been, there were many things we wanted to see and do while we were in town--of course we only got to a few. I always feel as though weekend getaways that are for weddings are completely different than normal weekend getaways. Know what I mean? Since we rode with a friend, we were basically at his mercy (slightly frustrating), but still we managed to have a wonderful time!

We arrived late afternoon on Friday, in time to check into our hotel, freshen up and head to the rehearsal dinner. Since both Paul and Danielle are from New Orleans, there was only a handful of us that were out-of-towners and did not know everyone else. Luckily, I do not think that has ever stopped any of us from having a good time!

After the nice rehearsal dinner, nine of us headed out to Bourbon Street for a little fun! Here we are at Pat O'Brien's with the Hurricanes that will knock your socks off.

Saturday (after I got the boys roused out of bed and moving), Bryan, Matt and I headed to the French Quarter and met up with Cooper and Ashley for a yummy Cajun lunch. I had an oyster poy boy with etouffee. We then split up and out to stroll down the streets. Right in front of Jackson Square we saw street performers gearing up for a show. As we stopped to watch, along came Chris and Margaret, so we were all able to enjoy the show together. Can you see the guy doing a flip over all of the crouched down people?!?

Cafe Du Monde called our name, and we were thrilled to enjoy the beignets and coffee they served!

After a quick trip though Saks and Anthropologie, we all headed to our hotels to get ready for the big evening. (Let me just say that I loved my dress, loved my shoes, hated my hair and I am way too pasty pale!) If I have not said it before, I will say it now...Paul and Danielle are seriously so perfect for each other and make the cutest couple! Bryan and I have been incredibly blessed to find such wonderful friends! The wedding was sweet--of course I cried. The reception had phenomenal Cajun food, an open bar that never stopped flowing, an awesome band, and one of the most creative groom's cakes I've ever seen--a bobsled from "Cool Runnings" (which happens to be Paul's favorite movie). It was by far one of the best weddings that I have ever attended. Congrats to Paul and Dan!!

XOXO,
Hannah
