The More You Read, The More You Know

To read is to fly: it is to soar to a point of vantage which gives us a view over wide terrains of history, human variety, ideas, shared experiences, and the fruits of many inquiries. ~A.C. Grayling
Where is your favorite place to read? Amongst the wildflowers?
In the country all alone?
On a sandy beach?
Can you read anywhere?
Is one enough?
Or must you read multiples at once?
Does pilfering though the pages of old tales warm your heart?
Are books better with pages tattered and torn?
What is your passion?
Do you prefer reading about fashion?
Or maybe historical landmarks?
Books are tied up gifts, waiting to be opened.

*I recently finished The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. I am currently reading The Shell Seekers, by Rosamunde Pilcher.
*Today's post is dedicated to the most fervent reader I have ever known. She frequents other worlds, ones of which I only dare to dream. My sister.

  1. Oh how I love books... but I just don't read as much as I'd like to. Probably because I'm too busy reading blogs like yours! :)

  2. This post made my <3 swoon! I love to read. On the beach. In the hammock. Anywhere! I have been so busy lately that I haven't been reading as much as I'd like. I need to make it a priority. Thanks for reminding me :)

  3. I love to read!!! I usually don't get a chance during the school semester, but I try my darndest to get as many books in on breaks and summer. I just finished Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Wicked, and am starting the first of the Sookie Stackhouse series. (I read half the book last night!) Tommy laughs at me and doesn't know how I can read 2 books at a time... I told him I'm like Thomas Jefferson- he read 4 at a time! :)
