As I was supposed to be spending the day looking for a new piece of furniture on which to place my tv, I have instead scoured a few of my favorite sites from the luxury of my couch. I am looking for a piece that can be used for the tv now, but later used for other purposes. Nadeau is a store that I fell head over heels for while Emily lived in Savannah. I could spend a lot of time and a lot of money in that place. Luckily, the prices are very affordable. Any other good places you know where I might check to see if anything appeals to me? Which of these do you like best?

Beauty Faves

I know it is a little late in the day, but the Internet has been finicky and it's always better late than never, right? This week has been a blur for me and I am ready for the weekend. How about you? Do you have anything fun planned? Bryan and I were planning on going furniture shopping in Dallas, but he called around noon saying that he would be working tomorrow. Now I am considering going to soak up some rays. On another note, these are some of my favorite beauty products that I have been using lately. What are some of yours?

A year ago I would have told you that my favorite hair conditioner was S Factor. Today I will tell you that hands down my favorite conditioner is Moroccan Oil. For those of you who have heard of this stuff and never tried it, please go splurge and make the purchase. I promise you will not regret it.

Sand Tropez by Essie is currently on my fingers. I have worn it more this summer than any other color. I find that it goes well with just about anything!

Jane Iredale's Tantasia Self Tanner--Love this stuff. I won it in my summer giveaway from Shasta. I do not know how I have survived all of these years without it.

Vitamin E. I have been putting this on at night after my normal moisturizers have soaked into my skin. I swear that I can see a difference. I've used the capsules and the liquid oil. Just make sure to get a good brand.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Thirsty Thursday: Sour Cherry Lemonade

With cherries being ripe and plentiful right now, this is a tasty drink that is guaranteed to be a taste bud pleaser. Now all you have to do is grab a Mason jar and colorful straws and you have yourself a heavenly treat!

Sour Cherry Lemonade

1 3/4 cup lemon juice (about 12 lemons)
1 cup of sugar
3 quarts of water

Cherry Syrup:
Take a 1lb bag of sour cherries. Pit them and simmer those babies with 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water and a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice for about 30 minutes. Strain and reserve syrup.

Combine lemon juice, sugar and water. Add cherry syrup to taste. Not a big sweets person? Cut the sugar in the lemonade and then just use more syrup, tasting to your preferred sweetness.

Style: Color, Who Needs It?

When I recently saw this picture I knew that I had to post it at some point. And thus it became the inspiration for today's post. Enjoy!

Blog Sale Updates

I have just listed a few new items to my blog sale. There are a couple of new really great items (think handbag)! Check it out here or at the link at the top of the page. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

It's Been A Long Time

To say that it has been crazy around here would be a huge understatement. Thank you all for being patient and understanding when a girl doesn't blog due to a move. I honestly don't even know where to begin by telling you what all has been going on around here the past two weeks. Unpacking, organizing, buying, organizing, decorating and organizing pretty much sums it up.

I think my dear mother is having slight withdrawal issues with me now being an hour away (admit it Mom). Last week she popped by for 20 minutes to give me Amdro ant killer. On Monday she took me shopping for a few house items. My favorite item purchased was a plush green throw that I have been eyeing. Thursday was when she brought me the ant killer--which has done wonders for my ant problem. Then on Saturday she came over for dinner. I love her flexible schedule and how she is always willing to do whatever I need, whenever I need. Thank you, Mom!

Bryan's parents came and stayed with us for the weekend. My MIL loves doing projects and was a huge help in getting my living room put together. On Saturday we shopped all over town and came out with a great haul of pillows, curtains and tassels. Here is a picture of the back door. Similar curtains cover the side kitchen window and will cover our living room windows. The living room window is 12 feet wide and needs a special rod.

My kitchen table is still not finished and so the outside ones is residing in its place. I'm almost to the point that I am willing to sell the kitchen chairs that I have re-done. Hopefully they will be finished by tomorrow and I will see if they work or not. If they do not fit I'm happy with the outside chairs being inside and purchasing others to outside. They are actually an inside set, but I recovered them with outdoor fabric to make them durable for the outdoors.

The living room has come a long way but is still not finished. Curtains need to go behind the couch. I need a lamp for the corner between the wall and couch and the lamp on the right needs a different shade. I think a rug with coordinating colors will pull the whole room together, but I have yet to find anything just right. This weekend we are going to go to Dallas to pick out a piece of furniture for the tv. Right now the coffee table has been pushed back and the tv is sitting on it.

I have said since the beginning that it will take at least a month to get everything complete and how I like it. Tomorrow will be two weeks and I am pleased to say that our home has already come a long way. Of course, there are still many things that need to be changed. Although I love a good beer, it is hard having a small kitchen and having this taking up counter space. It was made on day eight of being here. Can you tell where priorities lie?

Even though I agree with my husband that this is a good picture I do not agree that this is a good place for the bikes to be stored. He took this picture last week sometime. Sunday was supposed to be the day that a bike solution was put into action, but here it is Tuesday and the bikes are still in the same place.

I know this isn't much, but I wanted you to know that I have not fallen off the face of the earth. Please remember that everything is still a work in progress. This is a small sliver of insight into what I have been doing instead of scouring Pinterest, Tumblr, shopping sites and blogging.

Friday Five

Once again, I'm doing a "Friday Five" post on five things I'm thankful for this week. Hopefully sooner than later I'll get the Internet set up so I can blog from home. Until then, Starbucks and my phone are my besties.

1. A good grocery store less than a mile from my house. Oh my, what I have been missing!

2. There is a shaved ice stand a few blocks from our new home. I'm thinking it should be advertised as a gourmet shaved ice stand.

3. Seriously, there are no words to describe it. I wonder if they will let me open a tab.

4. The fabric for my outside chairs. They are currently in my kitchen until my others are ready.

5. The princess has been beyond amazing with the transition to a new house. She has only gotten out once in the neighborhood, unfortunately without a collar and a very strong will to not listen to her mama. And, she will go up the stairs but not come down them-you don't even want to know how I got her down the one time she got stuck and I was the only one home.

Thirsty Thursday: Blueberry-Inspired Cocktail

Em sent me an email earlier this week containing this recipe from Garden & Gun. It looked so delicious that I had to pass it on to you.

Blues Cat
Parlor Market; Jackson, Mississippi

3 oz. Cathead Vodka
15 blueberries
5-8 basil leaves
1 oz. lemon juice
1 oz. rosemary infused simple syrup

Muddle the blueberries and basil leaves together. Combine remaining ingredients, shake, and strain over flaked ice. Garnish with additional blueberries, basil, and freshly grated cinnamon.

And The Winner Is...

Congratulations to bAs of Preppy Wife Preppy Life! She is the lucky winner of the Lydia and Pugs giveaway! Here is the link to her blog, I cannot use the linky on my phone. Thank you everyone for participating in this fun giveaway. Anyone ready for the weekend? I know that I am!

Tibi Fashion

I've been totally slacking in my fashion posts, and most importantly, my Tibi posts. I know, I know, it's been a while. I've totally gotten so wrapped up in moving right now that everything else has gone by the wayside. If I did OOTDs (Outfit of the Day) right now they would consist of a t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes. Upon pulling up Facebook for the first time in probably a week, I was ecstatic to see all of the new Tibi updates.

The Istanbul print has been very popular this season. I admit, I have not purchased anything in it because of the blue, which is not my color, but there is one in peach/tan/yellow that I am still hunting.

What do you think of the Pre-Fall outfits?

I could do cartwheels over this...I love the Pre-Spring 2012 looks. Seriously, this might be my favorite collection in a while. Love.

Giveaway Reminder

Please don't forget to enter my Lydia and Pugs giveaway! It ends Wednesday night at midnight.

Summer Boil

Amongst all the moving that went on this past weekend, Bryan and I were able to have a little fun, too. Laura, aka Lil' Bit, aka Lala, came to visit early Thursday and stayed until Saturday afternoon. I would not have gotten as much accomplished if she had not been here. I tell myself every time she visits that I need to write down her quotes, they are priceless. One of my favorites was when she got the drill and said, "Could this kill someone?"

Friday night Paul and Danielle had a crawfish/crab boil. Danielle's brother and a friend were vising from New Orleans, so fresh food was hauled in and thoroughly enjoyed. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of the crawfish before it was demolished.

We now have electricity at our new home! I'm hoping it was just the heat, but the air conditioner took forever to cool the place. Yesterday I went to Kohl's, TJMaxx, Ross, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Pier 1, Kirkland's, Michael's, Hobby Lobby and other little places in between. My favorite find of the day was a lamp that I saw in a window of a thrift store. The rest was absolute junk, but I scored this beauty for $25!

As we were going to Lowe's on Sunday, Bryan and I passed a little flea market. Itwas already closed, but a couple of people let us run through their area. I spied a bench to put on my front porch. Bryan whispered and asked what I would pay, my reply, "20 dollars." A few minutes later when he asked the man the price he said, "I'll take 20 dollars." It is now sitting on my front porch.

I'm off to find the ribbon for my wreath!
